Honeycomb Slip Stitch



Worked over an odd number of stitches. from Mary Thomas's Book of Knitting Patterns

Row 1: Knit (right side of fabric)
Row 2:: Knit 1, *Slip 1, Knit 1; repeat from * to end of row
Row 3:: Knit (right side of fabric)
Row 4:: *Slip 1, Knit 1; repeat from * to last stitch, Slip 1

Repeat these 4 rows for pattern. Note: Please ignore the poor quality of the photo. I've learned to not use white to swatch with ever again.

Waffle Stitch



Worked over any number of stitches divisible by 2.

Special abbreviations:
K1B: knit one through the back loop
P1B: purl one through the back loop

Row 1: *K1B, P1; repeat from * to end
Row 2: *P1B, K1; repeat from * to end
Mock-Cable Rib



This stitch comes from "365 Knitting Stitches a Year." It is the stitch for March 11.

Special Abbreviations:
Cross 2 back: Knit into the back of the 2nd stitch on the needle; then knit the first stitch, slipping both stitches of the needle at the same time.

Multiple of 7 plus 2.

Row 1: P2, *Cross 2 Back, K3, P2; repeat from * to end.
Row 2: K2, *P5, K2; repeat from * to end.
Row 3: P2, *K1, Cross 2 Back, K2, P2; repeat from * to end.
Row 4: K2, *P5, K2; repeat from * to end.
Row 5: P2, *K2, Cross 2 Back, K1, P2; repeat from * to end.
Row 6: K2, *P5, K2; repeat from * to end.
Row 7: P2, *K3, Cross 2 Back, P2; repeat from * to end.

Note: with lighter weight yarn, the ribs pull in more and look more cable like.
